Enter His Gates Board of Directors

David McCreary was raised in Enid, Oklahoma with a background in construction and farming. He is a graduate of OSU and operated a construction business starting in 1971. He married his wife, Christine (a retired 1st grade teacher), and had two children: Amy (married to Eric Keller), Dane (Lt. Colonel in the Air Force), and was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Maddy, Abi, and Izzy. He loves the outdoors and enjoys hunting, horseback, archery, fishing, and boating. "I first learned about EHG when I met Doris Williams at a Parelli Horsemanship training clinic and was impressed by her enthusiasm for EHG, which was contagious. My first involvement was a horse donor, followed by being a grandfather of two campers, volunteer, board member (2015), and board President (2019). When Doris stepped down, several members of the board stepped up with the goal of continuing EHG. Our hearts' desire was to continue the irreplaceable experiences for both the campers and volunteers."

"I am a wife, mother grandma of 5, and a jack of all trades! I have worked in the real estate business with my husband for decades, but have recently slowed down and somewhat retired from that. In my free time I love to travel, spend time with my family, drink lots of coffee, watch movies, and read! Enter His Gates is important to me because it has blessed the lives of 4 out of 5 of my grandchildren! They have all been campers for at least one summer and have come away with new skills, memories, and friends! One of my grandchildren is now a certified therapeutic riding instructor because of the passion EHG helped cultivate in her. I continue to serve at EHG even though all my grandchildren are grown and no longer attend camp because I believe it provides children with the ability to learn new things, grow their character, see God through nature, and make lasting memories!"

"I started with Enter His Gates as a camper when I was nine years old. After a few years of summer camp, I started volunteering with our volunteer program. I returned summer after summer, learning as much as I could each season. I am currently a junior at Southwestern Oklahoma State University studying business with a minor in Organizational Leadership. I am a research assistant at SWOSU, and also teach dance in Weatherford. Each summer, I am blessed with the opportunity to watch children have the same experiences I had as a camper. As I speak with current campers, parents, and our teen volunteers, I am reminded of why I return to camp each season. The ways God has used EHG in my youth have shaped the trajectory of the rest of my life, and I hold dear each lesson I have been lucky enough to learn with EHG. I continue to serve at EHG because I see the impact camp has had in my life, and I want each camper to have the same life-changing experiences I continue to have with each passing season."

Andrea Curry: Hi! I'm Andrea Curry.  I grew up in Enid and after getting my degree in Music Education and Science from the University of Tulsa, I taught 4th and 5th grade in Tulsa, OK, and 7th and 8th grade Science at Fremont Christian School in Fremont, California.  I returned to Enid in 2004 and started teaching 8th grade Science at Emerson Middle School, where I have been for the past 16 years.  In 2008, I became involved with Enter His Gates summer camp.  I have always had a love for horses and in the summer of 2008, Doris Williams recruited me to volunteer at a new camp that she was starting to share her love for God and horses with children of all backgrounds.  I was hooked.  Over the 14 years that I have been involved with EHG, I have watched EHG summer camp change and grow from the 1st year where we had 15 campers a week for a few hours a day to a full-day camp with 27 campers per week; 4 rotations out at the camp, Bible study and swimming in the afternoons.  Every year, I look forward to summer; seeing returning campers, meeting new campers, and watching many previous campers become volunteers.  God, Kids, Horses, and the great outdoors.  You can't get any better than that.  I look forward to seeing your camper this summer.

"I am a stay at home mom of four teenagers/young adults. I spend my time reading, walking our dog, and hanging out with family and friends. Enter His Gates is a great opportunity to learn how to fish, canoe, and ride a horse. These are experiences most youth do not have access to learn and enjoy today."

"I have done kids ministry in various forms for 38 years, but am now and interim Sr Pastor (but I still do kids ministry every week). I love the canoeing part of my camp day, but my favorite part is the Bible message and seeing the children respond."

Our Founder - Doris Williams

Doris’ heart’s desire is to influence children, to prepare them to approach life with Christian values, to understand responsibility and to make good memories in the process. Doris began riding horses at age 7 with English style and later would learn Western.  She was a Girl Scout and began leading camping trips along the Appalachian Trail & canoe trips on the Tennessee River by age 18.  Doris taught Junior High Math and Science and obtained her Masters in Education.  She and her husband, Lyman raised two boys, Doug and Rusty.  After raising her boys, she joined Operation Mobilization in Eastern Europe for 8 years where she worked in finance as well as counseling and Christian Education.  While in missions she traveled extensively in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, China and India. After the mission field, Doris returned home and attended Parelli Natural Leadership training for horses, Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship Administration Workshop and Crystal Peak Youth Ranch for abused kids and horses. In 2008, Doris’s dream to help children find meaning in life became a reality as she opened Enter His Gates Summer Day Camp. Doris used the great outdoors and the unconditional love of horses to help  teach children the unconditional love of Christ and choose Him to be his/her Savior and Lord through     Enter His Gates.
