Prepare: Verb. To make something ready for use or consideration.
As camp starts in two weeks, preparing is exactly what we are doing right now. Registering campers, cleaning the barn, ordering t-shirts, labeling bottles, and communicating with parents are keeping us busy. I am blessed to say that the first week of camp is full! At this point, the horses are ready for the campers. Uriah has returned from his holiday home (vacationing with an older horse closer to Enid) so that he can work at his summer job.
If this is your camper's first time at camp, you may have some questions as to the daily schedule of camp. At 7:15 sharp, we will depart from Grace Ministries in Enid. We arrive at camp around 7:40, then we begin our morning devotion and flag salutes. We break into our groups and go to our first activities around 8. Campers are divided into 4 groups- Quarter Horses, Paints, Haflingers, and Mustangs. These are the groups they will stay with in the various activities. Throughout the week, campers will ride, canoe, fish, play games, shoot archery, learn gun safety, swim, hear fun Bible lessons, learn about science, and play with/socialized neglected puppies that were rescued through a shelter. Some say their favorite part of camp is riding the horses, but most can't even pick a favorite. When a camper says they want to come back the next week, the volunteers know that camp has been a success.
We look forward to seeing you or your child at camp! Summer Camp 2017 is going to be awesome 😊
In Christ,
Elisa
